Overall Gameplay (7.5 / 13 points)

Comments: This is a groovy little entry! I think the difficulty scaling mechanism works pretty darn well for a jam game, despite the README listing it as "something I didn't get right about the game". It ought to get impossible towards the end - let the scoreboard tiebreaker be how well the players handled traffic! I quite enjoyed the mental imagery of fire trucks whipping it in real life the same way as in the game. The siren mechanic is pretty cool too, although I must protest the choice of "H" when movement is WASD and my other hand is using the mouse. I think this is the sort of game that would do much better with a much smaller map and multiple fires at the same time. That way the player is constantly being pressured to choose which fires to put out first, giving them something to think about while driving. The driving itself is fun enough but it's not particularly engaging on its own. The AI cars were cool even if they weren't always the brightest!

Theme Inclusion (6 / 6 points)

Comments: This works well enough, even if the player themself isn't directly involved in any "calls for help", rather than just being the one helping.

Overall Presentation (7 / 10 points)

Comments: The pseudo-3D graphics were pretty neat! I do wish there was a bit of variation in the buildings themselves though. The map in general could've used a bit of extra spice so it didn't all feel the same. Trees in particular also needed some artistic love. The interfaces in general need some polishing, particularly the debug dialogue for name input. I did appreciate having the controls explained in-game though! Music and sound effects all do the job.

Final comments: A very well-rounded entry! No major weaknesses in this game, but no major strengths either. Overall a job well done.
