Caught by Rocafuctus

Time Played: about 13 minutes

Overall Gameplay (6.5 / 13 points)

Comments: I was shot before I could begin typing this review because my kidnapper didn't like me typing on a keyboard. Joking aside, I appreciated the unique challenge that this game posed, even if it was quite frustrating. A lot of trial and error was involved (I can move the whiskey bottle and text my friend but I can't turn on the lights?). I did end up needing the guide towards the end to escape the room. I'm fairly convinced that it's impossible to beat the running sequence. The bullets homing in on your character is infuriating to begin with, but I just don't think the doors can be opened fast enough. The controls for this sequence were also pretty wonky.

Theme Inclusion (6 / 6 points)

Comments: I think this is an acceptable use of the theme.

Overall Presentation (8.5 / 10 points)

Comments: Great marks on presentation overall. Controls are explained well, actions are detailed well, and various screens are perfectly informative. Loved all of the pixel art, although it tended to lack polish. Granted, that's a lot of art to do within the span of the jam, but the drinking animation was quite strange. Music was nice! But that first track drove me nuts towards the end.

Final comments: This entry was fairly entertaining at times, but it mostly felt like it was built to make my blood boil. I would've liked to see the difficulty refined at pretty much every layer.
